The project has the ambitious objective of preventing disability in children under five years of age suffering from acute malnutrition, while improving the quality of life of young people with neurodevelopmental disorders.
The heart of the project is the integrated approach that combines the contrast of malnutrition with the psychomotor rehabilitation.
The direct beneficiaries will be 227 people, including:
- 80 children up to 12 years old, who will receive individual therapies and assistive devices to deal with neuro-evolutionary and psychomotor disorders.
- 140 mothers, actively involved in their children's rehabilitation programs and in specific training activities in villages, to ensure the continuity of care even at home.
- 7 local staff members, who will benefit from specialized training to create lasting skills in the area.
In addition to these, 720 indirect beneficiaries, mainly family members, who will be able to count on a healthier and more autonomous lifestyle, also lightening the burden on Malagasy National Health.

The planned activities are structured to ensure tangible and sustainable results. The project involves nutritional screening to promptly identify acute malnutrition in children under five years of age and the subsequent administration of appropriate care.
A fundamental pillar of the initiative is the transfer of skills: Italian developmental neuro and psychomotor therapists (TNPEE) will provide intensive training On site to a local professional for a period of 3-6 months, accompanied by online refresher sessions. The nutrition and nursing team will also receive specific training to recognize signs of disability and direct patients to appropriate care.

For families who cannot regularly reach the Medical Center, tutoring activities are planned directly in the villages, ensuring that no child is left behind.
