Our Moringa plantation: one leaf, a thousand benefits

In 2017, Change purchased 1,400 m² of land near the town of Ampefy, where our Saint-Paul Center is also located. This is where our cultivation of Moringa Oleifera, also known as The Miracle Tree.

Its leaves, in fact, are rich in nutrients: protein, iron, calcium, vitamin A and vitamin C.

Local farmers are working the land, coordinated by Edson, our nutritional agent. Always passionate about this plant, Edson knows it in every detail: he trains the staff, oversees the crops and deals with the production of moringa flour with great competence and dedication.

The leaves are collected, dried and then ground thanks to a special machine.

The flour we obtain is used in different ways:

- Eats dietary supplement, packaged and distributed to treat moderate acute malnutrition or to support pregnant women.

- During the culinary demonstrations, to teach villagers how to cook healthy and balanced meals using Moringa.

- To prepare our Moringotti, nutritious cookies distributed as a snack to the children of the Saint Therese school, near our Center.

A simple leaf, but with a thousand properties and uses: this is how Moringa becomes a precious tool every day for improving the health and well-being of the communities we accompany.
